Description
Lord Shri Krishna is one of the most favorite Hindu deity, who is the eighth incarnation of Lord Vishnu in Dwapara Yuga. He was born as the eighth son of Vasudev and Devaki but grew up as son of Nanda and Yasodha in Vrindavan. He is also referred as makkhan-chor or curd thief as he used to steal curd from houses in Vrindavan along with his friends, which is depicted in the center of the scroll. Lord Krishna was always loved for his playful and notorious character. Apart from spreading love, he also has a long list of devils that he defeated in order to save the mankind out of which these are the few names: Putana (the evil witch), Aghasura (the snake demon), Bakasura (the stroke demon), Vatsasura (the calf demon), Dhenukasura (the donkey demon), Pralambasura (the fiery demon) and several others. These stories are beautifully portrayed on the edges of this scroll.
