In this statue lord Jagannath’s face is placed over a wooden platform and is sculpted in a form of sun, having a circular face with rays emitting from it. The Lord is said to be the ninth incarnation of lord Vishnu the supreme protector and preserver of universe, who takes form in every yuga to eliminate the evil and establish Righteousness.
